DeMolay Supports Social Services of Ridgewood
February 16, 2010 -- Recently the Ethan Allen Chapter of the DeMolay Leaders of New Jersey organized a food drive to benefit Social Services of Ridgewood. The Ridgewood-based boy’s leadership group solicited help from Fidelity Lodge #113 F&AM and Ridgewood Order of Eastern Star #39, as well as others in the community, to successfully generate supplies to help those in need. Chairman and Advisor Ed Archbold commented, “The amount of food donated was great, but the donations of baby food and individual servings of juice were the most appreciated by Social Services. It was sad to learn that some choose to eat less to be able to pay for food for their babies, as often not enough of this item is donated.” Individual juice boxes or cans allow children to take a healthy drink to school each day and are also often in short supply at the food bank. DeMolay strives to help the community as one of its basic tenets and encourages others to support Social Services, especially in the current difficult economic environment.
